Holland is part of The Netherlands,
just like England and Scotland are part of the UK. The capital
is Den Haag, but the city that people know best of course is
the old centre of world commerce and trade - Amsterdam. Today,
Amsterdam is of course famous for all sorts of other things
too.
The centre of Amsterdam is a 30 minute bus ride from the house
in Edam, so if you work in Amsterdam, it is easily commutable.
