This view of the centre of Edam shows the central canal and the Dam bridge which must be several hundred years old.

To the left a few bicycles can be seen. This is typical of most towns in Holland, not least Edam, where there are very few cars in the centre. Bicycles are undoubtedly the preferred mode of transport.
